Dancing robot
The Dancing Robot was my project in the Tinker.it Toy Hacking workshop. It was made using only electronics, that were gathered from existing toys.
My dancing robot was made from 3 separate toy:
- a lightstick, made up of 4 LEDs,
- a cat, that meowed and flashed its eyes whenever it heard loud noises,
- and a dog, that danced and sang a song whenever you squeezed his toe.
I isolated the different functions of the circuits to give me:
- a drum machine powered by LED pulses,
- a microphone,
- two motors that could be triggered.
The drum machine was the sound (input), the microphone recieved this and triggered a relay (control) which activated the motors (output).
Here’s a video of it in action.
